The creation even of the University of Quebec, there is a little more than thirty years, was a response to a series of challenges which confronted the company québécoise then. The mission of the University, since, is directly aligned on research, teaching and the service at the community in various fields of strategic importance for the future of Quebec. At the dawn of XXIe century, the challenges result quite as many, in particular from the fast and major changes which the Western world as a whole crosses at present. Quebec does not escape this fast revolution - which is not without pointing out, in certain connections, famous quiet Révolution - and the University of Quebec is challenged today as much as yesterday.
